Concert at Ananya - 15th November

Ananya (www.ananyaculture.org) celebrated a festival called Kalotsav where several young musicians participated.
This year, the theme was "Composers of Karnataka".
The hall was jam packed and the audience was fabulous.
Vidushi Charulatha Ramanujam was on the violin, Tumkur B Ravishankar played the mridangam while G Omkar was on the ghatam.

Concert at Udupi

Just back from Udupi where I performed for the Kanakadasa Festival.
Even though the road to Udupi from Bengaluru is awful, the concert itself went off smoothly.
Sang 'pancha maathanga mukha' for the first time in a concert and also included a few compositions of kanaka dasa as well.

  4. parvati ninnu ne - kalgada - adi tisra - shyama shastry
  5. sarasa saama daana - kapi narayani - adi - thyagaraja
  6. naa moraalagimpa vemo - devagandhari - rupaka - thyagaraja (R)
  7. mohana rama - mohana - adi - thyagaraja (R,S)
  8. yaake neenilli - desh - adi - kanaka dasa
  9. nee maaye olago - kambhoji - khanda chapu  kanaka dasa

The Desh keerthana of Kanaka Dasa was tuned by one of my first Gurus - Vidushi Vasanta Ramanujam - a musician with a phenomenal voice!!!

Vidushi Charulatha Ramanujam was on the violin while Vidwan C Cheluvaraju accompanied me on the mridangam.
